Ducks

MUSCOVY DUCKS

Currently we offer Muscovy, eggs, and roasters. Muscovy are unique ducks in that they are the only breed NOT related to Mallards. They are a heavy breed with terrific dark meat akin to beef. Their meat is a lean meat. They are excellent foragers and bug eaters, always a plus! They don't quack but instead hiss and waggle their tails when being social. They are a very docile bird. The males have large caruncles in bright red on their heads and necks while the ladies have them around their beak. They do have super sharp nails and feather tips so processing can be a challenge.  They come in a wide variety of colors from spotted, solids, silvers, rippled, chocolate, lavendar, bronze and more!

We offer eggs in season, ducklings and processed ducks. We skin or pluck.

  • Iron. One duck breast has 3.74 grams of iron, which is about 14% of the daily value for iron (18 grams). ...

  • Omega fatty acids. Duck poultry is an excellent source of short-chain omega-3 fatty acids and a good source of omega-6 fats.

  • Selenium. Duck meat is a rich source of selenium.

  • Muscovy are also high in protein, 18.6 - 20.8%

Our favorite recipe a tie between whole roasted and duck pastrami we make.
